The Triage Margin Watch indicator will allow you to check if you are close to getting a margin call. A voice phone, SMS, email, fax, instant messenger, RSS, Twitter or Facebook alert is sent whenever you run over your margin limits.

Quick Start

  1. Please make sure you are in TradeWatch "test" mode (which can be set with the TradeWatch program tray-icon on your Windows taskbar).
  1. Insert $Triage_MarginWatch into any chart where you have your own strategy running that you would like information reported to you via TradeWatch.
  2. Set the input parameters to your desired settings. You can use the defaults to see it in action.
  3. Wait for your $Triage_MarginWatch report to trigger.
  4. Check your message log under the view log menu in the tray-icon.
  5. If the alerts are being sent to you as you expect, then set TradeWatch to "live" mode and position mismatch alerts will be sent to you at any time and wherever you go.

If you get a "Waiting for account…" message in your chart for the $Triage_MarginWatch indicator, then you must check to see if you are online and connected to the TradeStation trade server. You cannot retrieve account information without being connected.

You can find your trade server status at the lower right hand corner of your TradeStation application. If the trading status is red, then you are not connected.
